Today we transitioned back to our content standards after spending a week kicking off eCyberMission. After today, each Monday will be a "Mission Monday" during which we will work on the project. Today, however, with it being a short day, we watched a short video clip from Bill Nye: Heat, sang a song about conduction/convection/radiation, and then drew a diagram about Fluffy. Today students registered for eCyberMission online (if you were absent, I will walk you through it when you return), then created a list of problems they want to research to help identify their final group topic. Today we got into our eCyberMission groups and completed a personality test ("compass") then started creating group norms. Many groups didn't finish those, so I'll hand them back to you tomorrow to finish. Don't forget about your Mr. Troposphere assignment!
Homework: Mr. Troposphere assignment is due Friday (see previous post for PPT with instructions) Today we completed a brainstorming activity to think of and narrow down specifics about a problem in our community. I then explained the eCyberMission process. You can go to www.ecybermission.com to explore the resources available to you. Tomorrow I will put you in your groups, and on Thursday we will register.
Homework: keep working on the Mr. Troposphere assignment- due Friday (see previous post for instructions on downloadable PPT) Today I answered remaining questions about the atmosphere graphing, groups completed a sand model of the atmosphere, and some students began an assignment called Mr. Troposphere- see file below for instructions. We will spend all day Monday working on the Mr. Troposphere, so if you didn't start yet- don't worry! :) Homework: create a list of 10 problems or issues in our community- DUE MONDAY!
Today we graphed the altitude and temperatures for the 4 main layers of the atmosphere and four other areas of the atmosphere.
